March 2000 - Holt Caterpillar Company in Texas seeks the expertise of Morning Star Interactive to create an interactive survey, which collects, sorts, and analyzes valuable data from Holt's customers. Morning Star Interactive then further assists the Holt Company in fully serving their diverse customer base by allowing the user to choose if they would like to view the Customer Service Survey Kiosk in English or in Spanish.
Initially, Morning Star Interactive designed and developed a software application for an interactive Customer Service Survey Kiosk for the Holt Company. The application assists the Holt Company in gathering valuable customer feedback and data. The turnkey solution that MSI presented provided the custom application, hardware, and a custom designed shell for the monitor. To further enhance the user's experience, video clips and music were incorporated into the kiosk.
The kiosk was so successful at enticing customers to complete the survey that other Caterpillar dealerships expressed an interest in offering the same service to their customers. In order to allow each dealership to personalize the experience, Morning Star Interactive created a configuration screen that prompts the designated individual at each dealership for pertinent information to customize the survey.
Since survey questions will need to be updated regularly, Morning Star Interactive also created a custom utility to allow designated individuals at the dealerships to make changes and updates as needed. To aid in the review and analysis of the customer's responses, the data is written to a flat text file that can be formatted to import into a Windows compatible database for analysis.
