QuickTime VR (QTVR) is a technology from Apple which allows a scene to be captured in 360 degrees and viewed from any angle on the computer.

There are two kinds of QTVR, panorama and object QTVR's. Panoramas are 360 degree images taken from a rotating camera.  They're great for displaying the interior of a room or the magnificence of an landscape.  Object QTVR's are made of images taken from a stationary camera of a rotating object.  Object QTVR's are good for displaying products such as telephones, cars, electric razors, anything that needs to be displayed from more than one angle.

Products and environments, future or existing can be experienced via this virtual 3D technology.

QTVR's require QuickTime 3.0 or higher and the QTVR plugin, available from Apple.
