BASS Masters Classic Live Internet Streaming Event

Challenge:

Horizon Technologies sought the expertise of Morning Star Interactive to stream a live event over the Internet during the 1998 BASS Masters Classic using video source provided by TNN. This event had unique challenges because of its location in Greenville, NC. Pre arrangements for ISDN telephone service had to be made.

Solution:

Two Dell 410s were configured with Osprey Video boards and Ultra SCSI hard drives. These machines were tested using the Real Video software and streamed directly to Real Networks. They were then shipped to the Greenville Convention Center with a crew from Morning Star Interactive and tested before the event. The live event streamed flawlessly with one machine providing a 28.8K stream and the other a 56K for high end connections.
